Tyraine Ragsdale (aka Grand Hank) is the founder and president of Grand Hank Productions Incorporated (GHPI. Prior to heading this organization, Grand Hank was a research chemist for the R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute Division of Johnson & Johnson. Since GHPI's inception in 1989, Grand Hank has impacted millions of students, parents and educators across the United States through television, curriculum writing, teacher training, student programs, and product development. Some of Grand Hank's notable contributions to the field of science education are: co-creating the "Science of Philadelphia" and the "Science Lab of Grand Hank" television shows which are broadcast in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland; co-developing the Science Core Curriculum for the School District of Philadelphia for grades K-8; and opening up a 5000 Sq. Ft., state-of-the art science laboratory and event center, complete with film and television production studio.
